Description

This year's GCSE results have provided a clear lesson for what is to come: every mark matters.

The next round of new GCSEs will challenge every department to deliver more difficult content while monitoring and addressing student weaknesses in ever increasing detail. The tight clustering of grade boundaries on this year's Maths papers meant that only a handful of marks made the difference of a full grade, while English has already seen a big jump in exam entries due to Progress 8 pressures.

At the same time, teacher workload has never been higher on the agenda for schools and academies, as well as more recently for Ofsted. How do we ensure we are supporting pupils to gain every mark in the exams, while at the same time ensuring demands on staff are manageable?

We are hosting this free meeting to look at the most effective and time-efficient ways of ensuring curriculum security while maximising pupil progress at every grade boundary.

This session will cover:

  • Identifying where students can pick up crucial marks

  • Accurate tracking of student progress

  • Using assessment data for high impact intervention

  • Collecting the minimum amount of data for maximum use

  • Using spaced learning to improve knowledge retention for all learners
